We know a day wedding is slightly unusual and some people have asked us what the dress code is.
You could wear what you would normally wear to an evening wedding. It may help to think of what you might wear for a day at the horse races too, minus the hats (unless you really want to do hats).
Here are some ideas for you.
White tie
NO – too formal, except if you’re Daniel Yeow, then it’s okay.
Business casual
OKAY – This category is very broad so it’s likely to be okay. You’re allowed to be more colourful and adventurous than you might be in the workplace. In fact, it’d be nice for you to wear a bit of colour. It is, after all, the middle of summer.
Casual and denim
PROBABLY NOT – It’d be nice if you dressed up more than your every day clothes because you’ll help provide a sense of occasion.
Race day wear
YES – although, not the big hats, top hats, cross dressing, jockey outfits or costumes. Besides that, though, Queer Eye’s Carson Cresley has the right idea – a bit of colour never goes astray.
National dress
YES – The clothes of your culture are welcome, be they kilts, kimonos or saris.
